Report scheduled for November 12
The company announced the date in a notice distributed by EQS on November 5. It classified the forthcoming release as a quarterly/interim statement issued within the second half of 2026. Both language versions will be available on the financial reports pages of init's investor website.
Earnings forecast reduced across all three units
In its November 2 ad hoc release, carried by finanzen.at, init lowered its expected consolidated earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) for 2026 to EUR 33 million to EUR 37 million, from EUR 38 million to EUR 42 million. The revised range allows for year-over-year EBIT growth of up to 14%, rather than the previous maximum of 29%. Revenue guidance remains EUR 380 million to EUR 410 million, and the operating cash flow target remains EUR 32 million to EUR 38 million.
init attributed the cut to its Managing Board's assessment of worsening geopolitical conditions in the Middle East and their effect on oil prices. According to the company, those conditions were reducing demand, especially for short-term, high-margin additional orders, while making third-party materials harder to obtain. Management also said it did not expect the unusually strong fourth-quarter earnings achieved in previous years to recur at a level sufficient to make up for the weak third quarter.
All three business units received lower EBIT targets for 2026. INIT Integrated Systems now expects EUR 32 million to EUR 34 million, down from EUR 34 million to EUR 36 million. INIT Cloud Solutions expects EUR 4 million to EUR 6 million, versus EUR 5 million to EUR 7 million previously. INIT Passenger Intelligence's range fell to EUR 5 million to EUR 7 million from EUR 7 million to EUR 9 million. init characterized the market weakness as temporary.
Revenue growth accompanied by lower profit and cash flow
The preliminary results published on November 2 showed third-quarter EBIT of EUR 1.6 million, compared with EUR 8.7 million a year earlier. That left nine-month EBIT at EUR 14.0 million, below the EUR 15.2 million reported for the same period of 2025. init cited an unfavorable earnings mix and, to a lesser degree, project valuation adjustments as reasons for the weak quarter.
Sales increased despite the earnings decline. Third-quarter revenue reached EUR 91.6 million, up from EUR 85.1 million in 2025. For the first nine months, consolidated revenue rose 29% to EUR 292.6 million from EUR 226.9 million.
The company's August 13 half-year report had shown revenue above EUR 200 million for the first time in a six-month period, an increase of about 42% from EUR 141.8 million in the first half of 2025. First-half EBIT rose 91% to EUR 12.4 million from EUR 6.5 million. At June 30, 2026, the order book totaled EUR 408.4 million, compared with EUR 370.0 million a year earlier.
In that half-year report, init described itself as a digitalization specialist for buses and trains and said it was on course for a new record in its 25th year as a listed company.
Preliminary operating cash flow through September 30 was EUR 6.7 million, down from EUR 33.3 million a year earlier. The Managing Board expects a substantial fourth-quarter improvement as advance payments arrive for significant projects and outstanding receivables are collected.
